Cream caught up with Radio 1 DJ Kutski to ask him some quick fire questions about his performance at the Cream Ibiza Radio 1 party at Privilege on Saturday 7th August.

What can you tell the Cream Ibiza clubbers about what you have in store to entice them to the Island this year?

As any one who has seen me play before will know, I play on the unpredictable aspect of my sets, so you can expect a full on hands in the air rave up whilst reserving the right to expect the unexpected!

You jet around the globe all year, what advice could you give our clubbers to survive a weekend on the island?

Make sure you have lots of bottled water in your hotel / apartment! It’s bad enough waking up with a raging hangover in that baking heat, but having to get up, dressed and go out just to get a glass of water is not a good look!

How would you describe Ibiza to someone who hasn’t been there before?

Hot, expensive, dance music bliss!

What is your favourite thing about the island?

Nandos on the west end…

Have you played in Privilege before? How do you feel about performing in one of the World’s biggest clubs?

I’ve actually never even been there before, so I’m really excited to see the place, let alone have the opportunity to play there!!

Will you get to see much of the island when you’re there?

Not really to be honest! I’m always out there playing, but as I have a lot of commitments back home I only get a day there, two at most, and if the second day is after a gig, I’m usually in no fit state to go exploring!!

What track makes you think of Ibiza?

Unfortunately that stupid tune a few years ago with the harmonica in it (I don’t even know the name). I used to hate it but every where you went it was blaring out of every bar, club, car, hotel, apartment etc… hehe… it tuned into a bit of an ongoing joke!

You’re well established as a Radio 1 DJ now, how did it feel when you got your first DJ slot for the station?

Crazy!! I still can’t really get my head around it! I mean its Radio 1, the most infamous radio station in the world!!!

Who’s your favourite Radio 1 DJ?

I’m a big fan of Greg James in the afternoon, also Zane and Huw Stevens for the specialist stuff

What has been your best Radio 1 memory so far in the studio?

It has to have been once when I was doing my show, Westwood popped in with a pencil behind his ear, tape measure and paper in hand and started measuring up and designing things lol… still to this day not sure what he was doing, but it was a very bizarre moment!!

Have you ever made a mistake on air?

Of cause, hit the wrong button, saying the wrong thing, stumble over my words… stuff everyone does every day, just I get a lot more people making fun of me when I do it.
